The clients were a young family who wanted more outdoor space and an expanded driveway on their steep site at the top of a ravine.
Using integral color concrete to match the house and sandstone excavated on site, we designed walls, patios, stairways and terraces.
To blend into the surrounding forest below the site, existing native oaks, manzanitas, madrones and toyon were preserved and new native plantings blend into the surrounding landscape. As they grow in, the new plants and the vines on new trellises will screen neighboring houses, while still allowing framed views of the bay and hills beyond.
The project also included a state of the art koi pond, stainless steel hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and outdoor kitchen.
